Your Kids First Day in School

Summer time is nearly over..... Kids are starting to go back to school. Overly excited students are getting back to school to see their old friends and classmates. But to new students excited as they are, their first day in school can actually make a lot of difference towards their outlook of what schooling is all about.

This can make or break them and this is why parents' guidance and support is very important and necessary during the first few days of their school. Parent's role is very significant in helping the kids cope up with their adjustment in the new environment. Parents should not pass this responsibility to their children's yayas or other family member. It is important that we as parents will let our children realize that we are there for them. Though in school, there will be a lot of children their age, a child can always be astounded by his/her environment. And without the necessary support to the child, it can lead to stress for children.

For children new to school, socialization is very important. And bright kid as they may be, children can be shocked with the new environment in school, new classmates, new teacher, new people. This can be a stress to children when left all alone. Plus the new activities they will do. All these can be factors that can lead to stress and has itself psychological impact on a child.
Parents should also limit their expectations for their children. A lot of parents expectations goes way beyond what their children can do and this causes misunderstanding between parents and children. Communication is a good starting ground for parents and children. Creating an open line communication is important. Also, knowing what your children's activities are and participating in their activities.
